Heather is a scratchboard artist. For over 20 years she has created whimsically macabre illustrations. Her various characters include Lily Reaper, Pumpkin People, Graveyard Gnomes and Zombie Babies.
SCRATCHBOARD ART
Often described as "drawing in reverse", scratchboard art is a subtractive drawing technique. Instead of adding dark shadows to a white page, the artist will use sharp tools to scratch away the dark ink to create highlights and light values.
